Toxic workplace

Pros

Good pay and benefits, good PTO policy

Cons

As with most contractors - the work environment varies with each office/contract. My particular office was notorious and LMI knew of these issues but still sent in contractor after contractor only to lose them shortly afterwards. The original team didn’t even last 7 months. I felt bad for one recent grad hire that the office neglected and didn’t train or give feedback and when they struggled because of toxic and faulty conditions, LMI threw them under the bus. I’m sure that there are other LMI offices that are fine but LMI seriously fumbled this one and higher management knows it but doesn’t do anything to help.

Pros

Flexible schedule. Meaningful projects. Friendly team. High level of autonomy and trust. Customers are generally friendly and willing to work with analysis teams to tackle analytical challenges.

Cons

Perception is that external hires are preferred over internal promotions. 401k matching and contribution percentages are on lower end of industry standard. No 401k matching or contributions for the first year. Bonuses are rare. Pay raises are 3% annually; out of cycle pay raises rare unless there is a competing offer from another company on the table. Management is disconnected and often require multiple redundant meetings. Management doesn't action advice/warnings until the topic becomes a larger problem. Secure workcenter is currently owned by competing company; system and badge access is very difficult. "Unlimited PTO" isn't actually unlimited; dishonest messaging. Holiday/PTO usually is limited to around 4 weeks per year, combined.

LMI is a Clown Show

Pros

Some colleagues/team members were highly competent and professional.

Cons

Management at all levels is disengaged from rank and file, only concerned with their own enrichment/self-promotion. Management pressures employees to push poorly-conceived / inadequately-developed “solutions” (products/services) to clients. Also, HR is essentially nonexistent.
