Pros

Excellent Pay and co-workers. Great teams and support structure. Sales staff is number 1. Lots of great customers. Great engineering group.

Cons

You will miss getting yelled at here. No drill sergeants on staff.

Pros

Management expects employees to perform with little supervision. Guidance is available whenever requested. Pay and benefits are competitive. The company performs as a team, both locally and region wide. You are held responsible for attaining your goals, but ample support is available to you.

Cons

The part of the company I work in was attained by LONG over a year ago and there are still some procedural struggles to contend with. Changes are slow, but they are coming one at time and seem to work well.

Pros

LONG is the best company I've ever worked for by a LONG shot. Having been in the industry for over 20 years, I've had the privilege to work at a few other competitors to LONG locally. I've found my home. The environment here is one of loyalty, collaboration, fun, and innovation. The compensation is above market averages for similar roles, but it's because we attract/hire/retain the best in our industry. Our success is driven by our core values of balancing the needs of Company/Customer/Coworker. I hope to retire from this company. LONG is well regarded by our customers and we are commonly viewed as the best in the business. LONGs benefits are also excellent.

Cons

Because of the positive aspects mentioned above, there is little turnover. Open positions for upwardly mobile folks are few and far between. I believe that patience and perseverance pay off. However, I cannot think of a single person who left because of lack of opportunity.

It's so great to hear from folks about how much they appreciate and enjoy working for LONG, because we're very proud of the culture and environment created over the past 50 years. It's true - little turnover can be a good thing but can also work against current employees and internal promotion opportunities. As LONG continues to grow, the hope is that opportunities will grow too. As you've pointed out, that growth does task leadership with more, and more diverse, business needs in the various areas to pay attention to.
