Pros

Not many if any at all. Horrible benefits and a horrible leadership team. Close to home is the only benefit.

Cons

I still work here. Bad bad vacation. You will not get more than 2 weeks even if you stay here for 40 years

Pros

Lsi is a great place to for anyone who wants to learn new skills, do variety of different jobs/functions, and move around the company. For my seven years in the company I was able to do touch every commodity as a buyer/planner and work in product management department as well as assigned to exiting projects that I felt were moving company forward, especially giving visibility of metrics. Also had opportunity to work with IT team to create/update report structure, which is not something you do in the big company role. Most importantly people were great and always helpful especially long term employees. Also very impressed by manufacturing operations improvements that were made/ cells instead of boring assembly line moving at the speed of a turtle. LSI has specific customer base, which does like USA made products. Use your internal manufacturing ability to be that company.

Cons

Company is way too top heavy. Instead of laying off employee that have been there long term and did multiple functions for the business, focus on those who you bring in and hire. Hiring someone from Fortune 500 company usually tends to be very narrow minded and used to perform single functions, which is fine when you are sitting on billions. Unfortunately you can not hire your self into profitability. More policies/procedures/templates to fill out and PowerPoint presentations are great, when you are a big company with money/time to waste. Instead possibly spend time to get website with products updated. Nothing has changed since I left LSI earlier this year. This might actually be the first step to move things forward or turn around. Also commodity product is great, especially when it is a streamlined offering, but why would someone purchase a commodity company for 100 mil of something that can be purchased on Alibaba?
