Pros

many of the employees love the company and have been working here for 10-20 some even 30 years, very dedicated and want the company to succeed.

Cons

all the competent people seem to be at the bottom and management does not value any of them. recently the PTO policy was revised, in order to save the company money, but ended up stealing many people's earned time off -- which is illegal, and i believe a group of people may have reported this to the board of labor. in my department there is absolutely no work/life balance, management basically treats you like a slave, at least if you're hourly you get overtime, if you're a salary employee you get screwed in a major way. they will expect you to work nights, weekends, holidays, and while you're on vacation. many of the managers, especially in the exec wing, will not return a call or reply to your emails if you're not a "somebody" or unless they want something from you. there are really no solid company policies about anything, and even when there are they are constantly bypassed in order to accommodate one executive or another, because they can't possibly be expected to follow the same rules as everyone else. the execs get special parking places in the front of building, which makes it easy to tell when they are not in, which is often. basically if you're not at least middle management you are seen as an interchangeable cog in the machine, they don't care about you as an employee and they care even less about you as a person. good employees constantly get punished with extra and harder work than lesser-performers, but we all get paid the same. they have a "blame the victim" mentality, if you complain about your manager being rude or condescending you will be told that you must have "done something to provoke it". don't bother going to HR, it is the worst i have ever seen, they don't try to take care of employees, they work for the management, so even if you have legitimate complaints it's your word against someone who is seen as more important and valuable than you. none of it is confidential, they will tell the person who files a complaint and what they said, so you can be sure to expect retaliation. very poor and disconnected management at the top will most likely run the company into the ground, or it will get bought out.
