Pros

You will operate with autonomy and the salary is reasonable. Noncyclical business with no layoffs. Good if you are just trying to support a family and live modestly.

Cons

Nowhere to move up. You will be disrespected by the sales reps and sometimes given unrealistic expectations. NO vacation time or 401k for the first year. Men have to wear a suit and tie every day.

Pros

High pay and good teamwork

Cons

The bad thing was that it was a very difficult job meaning that they overwork you but it is a good experience to learn!

There are better companies to work for

Pros

N/A The Purchasing Manager who made it worth it is now at another company.

Cons

No PTO your first year of employment, 5 days PTO your second year. 5 Paid Holidays (example - you will work Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Black Friday. It is very hard to go home for the holidays due to this.) While top management will boast on why the limited vacation time is good for the company, the same people will arrive late, take 2 hour lunches, and leave by 3 pm. They will always be paid more than you, even when their responsibilities fall onto you & do way more than your job title. This causes uncomfortable rifts between management and everyone else, and attributes to workers getting burnt out and/or not caring. The yearly review and raise structure is not based on performance - it is a pyramid structure according to how long you have been with the company. This also causes employees to care less since there is very little incentive. My advice for anyone considering Labatt for full time employment is to search your options in depth. There are MANY companies who value employees enough to give them proper PTO, as well as matching, or giving you more of a salary.
