Pros

Labcorp is a national leader in medical testing with large scale labs across the country, so there is the opportunity to move around if you would like. It is also a great place to START a career and gain experience. There are also many benefits that are available but are not taken advantage of.

Cons

A major downside would have to be the complete lack of information flow of the top down, it would be nice to know why the company is moving in certain directions, explain in terms other then profit e.i. long term viability and employ development. Employees should also feel secure in a company when it post record profits not that there lab could close at any moment.

Pros

The insurance is very reasonable as are the other benefits.

Cons

Communication is horrible. They make you terrified to make a mistake which can possibly cause more mistakes. They never give a cost of living raise. They expect us to be loyal to labcorp but do not give us any incentives. We are expected to work with a short staff but not have any overtime. All they are worried about is the bottom line and not their employees.

Pros

Plenty of good "moonlighting" jobs on any shift. When you go to the doctor, your lab tests are free if you send them to Labcorp.

Cons

Unless you are a technologist, the career advancement is somewhat limited. The benefits package is wide but the health insurance deductible is too high ($1000 individual and $3000 family) and the coverage is substandard. In fact, my college recently asked me to buy additional coverage because they felt that my insurance did not provide enough coverage to sit safely in a classroom.
