      Pros

      Great place to work, total benefits and room for advancement and growing in your field of endeavor. One of the best firms in Silicon Valley to be at.

      Cons

      Down cycles in the industry can be brutal and may result in layoffs. The tool companies are the first to feel a down turn with cancelled orders or deferred deliveries and are always the last to recover because companies are cautious about investing in new spending on Capital Equipment.

      Pros

      Overall a good company. Compensation is decent. Work schedule is rather flexible for an engineer. Not too stressful if one isn't overly ambitious.

      Cons

      As a high tech company in the heart of the Silicon Valley, Lam Research can't stand up to other great companies in the area, such as Google, Facebook, to name a few. Granted they are in different industries. But the corporate culture should be comparable. Office politics, even in the engineers' circle, could sometimes become frustrating.

      Take Lam's Mission, Vision, and Core values to heart - because that is what is best for yourself and the company, and in the end the customer - although they are considered 'first' in everything Lam does, and should always be at the top of our conscious thoughts. Be patient. Reserve judgment. Be accountable, and responsible. Be honest. Learn everything, and keep learning daily. Teach others what you would have them teach you. Help others where you would ask for the same help when needed. Overall - fantastic people to work for and with. Don't expect perfection, but strive to achieve it.

      Cons

      As in any company, some have expectations that they are entitled to be where they are, when all should be thankful and full of gratitude that they have what they have - because many others have much less and continuously struggle to survive.
