Pros

-Great experience with a wide variety of patients -Great experience with acute patients -You will learn what to do in a code -You will learn how to identify septic patients -You will be an A+ butt wiper and bed changer

Cons

-Your patients will be very acute -You will be given more acute patients than is safe -You will be paid poorly for your position compared to other hospitals in the area and even more poorly for the amount of work you put in -You will be lied to about the number of patients you will have -There will not be enough equipment for your patients -You will work with great nurses and techs but also incredibly lazy nurses and techs

Pros

There are no longer any pros to working here anymore. It's just hanging by a thread. Its very sad.

Cons

We no longer have enough staff to perform quality care, we find ourselves working with 1 cna and 1 Respiratory Therapist. The staff has been told that if they don't like it then they can leave and that's exactly what they've done and they aren't replaced because there are not any applicants or because of budget cuts. Staffing is overworked and extremely stressed out. The morale is very poor. We don't get the annual merit raise anymore which has been like that for years now after it dwindled down to a mere 1%. The patients and family complain about the care but with as many high acuity patients we have, getting to them all in a timely manner is virtually impossible. I can't believe state hasn't investigated yet. This place is either closing its doors or the owner is too consumed with the landmark in Florida.

Pros

Pay and I have met some great people at Landmark though that will end up being possible forever friends.

Cons

New orienteers are on their own from day 1. Staff is only considered as "numbers" and management only cares that you work unless you are a favorite. Short-staffed, ICU setting with 6 patients per 1 staff (should only be 3). Mostly all agency staff because they can not keep permanent staff. Highly toxic environment, no teamwork, feel like you are in high school. Different standards and discipline for different staff.
