Larimer County IT is fun to work with and for. The work we do is innovative, fast moving, and truly helping the LC employees and citizens of LC. We are an agile shop and leadership is always working to improve what we do and how we do it. Just recently IT reviewed positions and opened up new opportunities for leadership. You don’t have to wait for people to leave or move on before their are opportunities for leadership or changes. There is also a ton of value on hiring from within for leadership in order to promote advancement. We have been a huge part of keeping Larimer County working during covid and I am truly grateful for the opportunities to stretch and advance myself. I also feel like I always receive and can ask for opportunities for leadership and training to be better at what I do. I think every department in the county has its own level of autonomy and has a different vibe. The Larimer county IT team is positive, innovative, fun, and agile.

Cons

I am not sure I really have any. I will say each department has its own personality and really operates differently than the other. The county has many departments and if employment in county government is something that interest you, it may be wise to make sure the department you are looking into fits the purpose and values you aspire to.
