Pros

Meet great people with different partisan leanings Pay rate is comparable to many temp assignments County Clerk does some training herself and buys supper on election day Tries to keep employees safe and healthy Casual dress Opportunity to return

Cons

Fewer hours than anticipated and "flexibility" was annoying Computer assessment required before each shift -- unpaid Repetitive motions and pressure to finish tasks quickly Bad about making sure breaks are taken Schedule is day by day, so "flexibility" is a priority Offer letter gave benefits that were not actually present at the job site and did not specify pay rate. Coyness is not attractive in an offer letter. Election Day spent 14.5 hours at the job site
