      Engineering department underwhelming

      Pros

      Good pay, good perks, name recognition within the industry.

      Cons

      The engineering department is dysfunctional and disorganized, without a lot of consistency around how code is written or teams are run. There don’t seem to be any central architectural principles people agree on. There’s no oversight of managers, so no way to appeal or escalate issues on the team or department. There are some ‘broken stairs’ around who make discussion or debate of technical issues in public forums too unpleasant to be worth it.

      Pros

      I been working at LaunchDarkly a little over a year now and its been amazing. The foundation and status of the company is greatly impacted from our strong leadership team. They do whatever it take to make things right. When I first started I was highly impressed how organized and mature the company is. This is not you typical start up. As an employee who got hired during Covid our team has adjusted to remote work and we continue crush our goals and complete our tasks. I highly recommend this company to everyone! - Great pay - Strong leadership - Unlimited PTO - Great employees - Strong culture - Diverse teams and leaderships - No strict deadline - Great benefits - Amazing product - growing company - Great WLB

      Cons

      As the company quickly grows there are growing pains along the way. From my perspective as an engineer we plan ahead and scale for the future.
