Pros

Majority of my colleagues were wonderful

Cons

The PTO policy is terrible for office workers. PTO is accrued and includes sick, holiday, and vacation time. Most of the offices are closed during the holidays and you are forced to take the day off regardless if you'd accrued enough PTO or not. This also makes it hard for office employees to accrue time to take an actual vacation should you actually have enough PTO to cover the holiday. The health plan is also very limiting due to it being strictly within the Lee Health network if you want something somewhat affordable. Management and Leadership are just abysmal. There was constant micromanagement and petty office politics. Management created an environment of fear and stress while all under the façade of "caring" about their employees. HR and Employee Relations are completely useless.

Hello Former Employee, thank you for your review and expressing your opinions on the PTO policy with Lee Health. We do take employee feedback seriously and give the absolute best benefits we can as a non-profit employer. The 7.40 hours of PTO accrued every other week by full-time employees at Lee Health is actually very competive if not more generous than most employers. Lee Health does celebrate the 4 major holidays of the year. You're correct that the employees are required to take PTO if their department is closed for that celebrated date. While you were employed, we hope you gave feedback in the confidential annual employee satisfaction surveys. Departments are required to address issues that surface. Results and action plans are monitored by executive leaders to ensure action is taken. Again, thank you for your feedback. We wish you the best in your professional career.

Pros

A few, very few good people to suffer together. It’s a step down unit in reality, so experience. Thank goodness for CEOs and house supervisor.

Cons

Leadership is a joke. This is why they can not keep staff. They have majority all new grads. They only stay for their 18 months and leave. It’s all about the company and never the employee. Look at all the ads for this floor. Get ready to be running with no help. Charge nurses are the favored by mgmt, and are only there to sit and watch.

Thank you for your review and the opportunity to express your opinions on Glassdoor. We're sorry to hear you had unpleasant experiences on your unit. As a new unit, there is a need to hire many nurses to care for our GI patients. Lee Health values are Respect, Compassion, Excellence and Education and when staff members experience otherwise, we rely on employee feedback to address issues. We hope you participated in the annual employee satisfaction survey as well as contacting employee relations before you left the organization. These are tools for employees to give feedback so that changes can be made. Thank you again for giving feedback and we wish you the best.
