Dysfunctional company with highs and lows

Pros

Challenging, dynamic and with some really good people, it offers some good opportunities to learn and develop yourself

Cons

Work-life balance is non-existent, senior management are almost completely disconnected from the workforce and Danaher values are spoken about but not really applied properly. Pay is average and the company has some serious internal politics. Good people are leaving and this does not help the overall picture of things.

Pros

It used to be the name {Leica} - now the name is not even worth anything.

Cons

Management and upper management only care about the bottom line. Not the patient on the end of their products. They promise the customer the world when they are selling and after the unit is sold they are on to the next fish. (Over promise and under deliver). Can not voice your opinion here if you do you are reprimanded promptly with a call from your management. Keep quiet and you will keep your job.

Pros

Lots of experienced, bright people in the organization; there are pockets of comradery and where people genuinely enjoy working with each other. The opportunity to gain international exposure is quite high, depending upon your role. Some teams have exceptional leadership and it reflects in their associates' day to day enthusiasm and performance. You're really lucky if you happen to be one of those teams, but quite honestly, those groups are rarities or geographic-dependent. This is a good place to get into biotech / pharma / healthcare. Company manufactures high quality instruments, consumables, antibodies

Cons

Exceptionally poor work-life balance. Many ineffective managers promoted / hired based on cronyism. Minimal vacation time even for experienced hires. Management knows there are severe issue with retention and employee satisfaction and trust, but nothing seems to improve. There is continuous turnover, personnel movement, and undue stress passed onto employees. Training is either insufficient or non-existent, even to its sales associates. This company has taken the extreme stance on lean management.
