Pros

If you want to just collect a paycheck without having to work too hard and do no more than what you're told, this company may work for you. 401k match is decent.

Cons

Lousy healthcare, corporate culture that demeans employees. Clueless management that seems to work overtime to find ways to make employees feel unappreciated. CEO openly talks about how to hold down wages on financial calls with analysts. Senior managers are shameless careerists.

Pros

Very stable. Good salary. Smart people. I worked with technologies that positively affected the lives of others. I experienced very little ageism against anyone I happened to see. We had very diverse groups. The compensation was an improvement over some other employers I had had previously.

Cons

Impossible to switch roles; limited control over technical decisions; government bureaucracy slowed things down. If you work at Leidos, research how fluid things are there at the specific contract you are going to, unless you just want to sit still until retirement.

Pros

Co-workers were nice and helpful. New management kept the government from putting jobs outside scope of contract on us.

Cons

Leidos came in, underbidding our employer at the time by so much that they had to lay off a large number of folks to make the new budget. After things had settled I was effectively told that they didn't like my replacement in my old role and that I would pulled from my current job and placed back in my old one. I said I would not accept the job change and I didn't believe they had the right to force me. I was told, "sorry, but you can't always get what you want". So I left. Certain people in leadership blatantly try to poach employees from the subcontractor, CGI, because they didn't like the fact that they couldn't order them around like they could the Leidos people. Saying things to try to scare them into switching when possible, like "I can't keep you safe on rebids if you are working for CGI."
