      You can set your own work hours in the finance department and can meet some good people with morals in a sea of incompetent folks

      Cons

      Most people with seniority don't know how to do their job...still. Back stabbing is rampant Benefits are horrible for a fortune 500 company Wages are far below market - and the company does it on purpose People with no life often meddle in yours Training for your job is far and in between because most people don't know what they are doing Layoffs are around the corner for anyone on any level, so don't get comfortable

      Pros

      Cutting edge research, great collaborators, access to new technology. Decent vacation and sick policy and good job flexibility depending on your directorate.

      Cons

      Corporate stinks. They keep taking things away such as holidays, 401k match, snow days, and other benefits that our federal counterparts receive. The main thrust is for them to cover their own butts at all times.

      While I enjoy my actual position working with the Government, the company itself has far too many shortcomings.

      Pros

      The company has some great contracts to work on within the Government. The employees from the program management level down to the ground floor are great to work with.

      Cons

      False Promises Lack of employee relations From the top down to the division management level there is very little support. While the company promises certain employee benefits, the company makes it so difficult to get approval for the benefits such as tuition reimbursement that it is practically impossible. No growth potential, once you are in, you are stuck where you are at. Don't expect to have the ability to grow within the company.
