The first few months can be incredibly difficult, but once you get your business going the rewards are pretty significant.

Cons

First 5-6 months can be downright brutal at times. Not much pay, not much success, and all you can really do is try to learn. But putting the effort in pays off for most of the guys who stay for 1.5 years plus.
