Pros

As a preface, I was on this team for almost 2 years and only left due to family circumstances. Be wary when listening to others with less than 1 full year of experience with this team, because it takes time to see the full picture. If you're willing to put in the work, you will receive all the support you can ask for 10-fold. This group truly takes care of one another. Daniel, Irvin, Matt, and the other senior associates are great leaders and role models who want to see everyone succeed both personally and professionally. Being one of the toughest industries (particularly when starting off), you can not ask for a better team when it comes to culture and comradery, which is very hard to find in the advisor realm. (As an example, the leaders reward hard work with very fun outings, dinners, events, and a lot of fun). Make no mistake, this role takes considerable willpower, determination, and a very strong work ethic. However, the leaders have built a strong foundation of skills and resources to help those who are willing to put in the work. Every single person on this team made sacrifices (coming in as early as 6am and staying as late as midnight) to help me whenever I needed it. This is not simply a group of co-workers, this is a group of friends (and eventually family).

Cons

Whether these are seen as "cons" or simply a hard truths, you must be ready to embrace early mornings and late nights on a regular basis. Adjusting to this career (rather a lifestyle) can be very uncomfortable and frustrating at times, but the rewards are worth it (both financially and emotionally). The leaders on this team will push you to become the best, and in doing so they will often get you outside of your comfort zone. Not everyone is capable of handling honest feedback and constructive criticism. Building your own advising practice has a lot of ups and downs. Along with the lowest lows will come the highest highs. Again, not everyone is built for a role like this. In conclusion, if you want to be one of the best financial advisors in the industry, this is one of the few teams that will get you there. But you must be mentally ready for the challenge.

Undervalued

Pros

Friendly coworkers that make the days bearable.

Cons

Low pay. Undervalued CSAs. They don’t take any requests for help seriously. They allow Relationship managers to continue to mistreat staff.
