Pros

I have worked with several talented people at DRS and acquired skills not just in my own discipline, but other areas as well. DRS has several companies that develop and produce high-tech, interesting products that present multiple engineering challenges.

Cons

Career advancement within DRS seems to stall after a few years. It is difficult to change responsibilities once an employee demonstrates mastery of a particular area. This makes promotion within one's department difficult because co-workers become dependent on a particular individual fulfilling the same role, so promotion means taking on additional responsibilities without the ability to relinquish andy existing burdens.
