Pros

The rehab services team was great to work on. Their pay is competitive.

Cons

There is quite a bit of hospital to cover and the caseload was spread out quite a bit.

Pros

The differentials are nice, especially when doing weekend shifts. Coworkers are mostly chill, nurses are understanding and helpful. Everyone is doing their best to retain what help they can get.

Cons

Medical insurance cost is way too much. So understaffed that I hardly felt I could give my clients any sense of ease from their isolated lives. Had to be so quick with my tasks that it hardly left any time to connect with the people I perform my tasks for. Considering that many of these people are here 24/7 much of the time, it would be dehumanizing to go through living in. I can’t support a facility that facilitates such an isolating experience and is so overpopulated with residents with so little staffing that it forces me to stretch myself so thin in order to get as close to my own standard of what I believe to be “giving care” holistically means, that I began having mental breakdowns after a while as I went through my last shifts.
