      Toxic culture, zero support, mentally draining

      Pros

      Hard to name any. Salary might be market average, but absolutely not worth the mental toll.

      Cons

      Highly political environment that rewards bootlicking over actual performance. No time or space for real development — you're expected to deliver without support. Performance reviews are weaponized as leverage for dismissals. Constant pressure, lack of transparency, and a blame culture. Management shows little empathy or vision. Terrible for mental health — stressful, toxic, and unsustainable.

      Appreciates Employees but Not a Lot of Growth

      Pros

      Lhoist is a great organization to work for. They really show their appreciation for their people. They go above and beyond in this area to make their employees happy.

      Cons

      A con is that growth is limited. There are only so many paths to the top, and if you want to grow within the organization. You may progress to a certain point, but if you are not identified early on of the potential they see in you, the growth will be stunted and you will just hit a wall. Unfortunately, this leads to a lot of good employees with many years of experience and lots of knowledge departing from the organization.
