Pros

Great insurance, great benefits Courage, Integrity, Respect is a great idea if you live it all the time and not only when convenient... Management is disingenuous at best.

Cons

When I left the company my name was misspelled 5 different ways in company emails, letterhead and addresses. Maintenance at each plant is a joke. Safety at each plant is a joke. Plant managers in general have no control over their plants in a positive manner. 2 different plant managers were guilty of "drunk dialing" shift supervisors and maintenance supervisors in less than 6 months.

Pros

Was working in Corporate located in Belgium. In the beginning there was an international atmosphere with a lot of employers, trainees, VIE's from India, Germany, USA, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Vietnam, Poland, Spain, Greece. Since 2014 company focussed more on French speaking profiles. Lhoist is a familial company that don't count for internal event to prepare, so it's quite nice and often that you can meet and know your new colleagues.

Cons

Excluding the car, it's very difficult to come work by public transport, in plus the train(s), you need to take a local bus which stops the service at 9.10am and 6pm, or even not exist in other location of Lhoist, so you need to walk. As for company cars, not all employers have rights to have one, so I advice you to ask it before. For the strike days, you have to take day off. It's very difficult to have permanent contract.
