Pros

Defies notion that insurance companies are full of stodgy, boring people. Boston HQ is great. Management is very effective and respectful of employees. Interns were treated very well and rising seniors were invited to attend a fantastic 3 day seminar, where we were put up in a hotel, met with CEO Ted Kelly and other executives, excellent food, entertainment included Duck Tours.

Cons

Day to day work of the internship was a bit tedious, but it was still a good experience because it gave insight into the workings of the company.

Pros

Compensation was great. 1.5 days/month paid off for interns was great as well. Cafeteria food was actually decent. 60% of interns get full time offers.

Cons

Too much bureaucracy, things move very slowly. The company does not provide an environment in which employees feel comfortable speaking up about ideas in meetings and day to day situations (even for upper full time employees. Working environment is cold and can be very judgmental. The environment is a hierarchy. The size of your cube designates your status in the company. I understand that managers should have offices, etc., but at times it almost seemed ridiculous.
