      Liberty Mutual... Not a place you want to work, unless you want it tough.

      Pros

      Large Company... Much learning. Implemented development process was in early stages of development.

      Cons

      People are treated as commodities, nothing more. The development route for people is unfair. A 100% performance rating one year would be considered only 90% performance the next. People can not continue to improve year after year, once they reach 100% of their performance... It puts personnel on a track to eventual failure and promotes a high turnover.

      Pros

      Pay is good and work experience can be useful. Large financially stable employer.

      Cons

      Its simply another pathetic company. All the negatives - lousy management, micro managed, greedy selfish and back stabbing culture, massive turnover, very low employee morale. There is not much good here. On top it is a white boys club and there is evidence of racism. You need to be a first class moron to stay long at Liberty. If you are half decent you would have left a long time ago or they let you go. HR will always side with senior managment so dont bother.

      Pros

      Pay is respectable, it is a fairly strong company. Work life balance is very fair, and overall the compensation package is pretty good for the amount of hours spent at the office.

      Cons

      Well, the insurance industry for one, very centralized command, very poor development opportunities for employees. Management seems to be focused on meeting their numbers without any sense of the overall organization strategy.
