Pros

Unique experiences in retail, sports intensive environment. Customization and embroidery is a really cool feature and really lets you connect with customers. CCP (bulk order customization) is a really cool program with great value.

Cons

After over 10 years with the company, I have found that Upper and Middle management are not rooted in reality. Employees are assets, and the fiduciary responsibility to shareholders outweighs common sense and good ethics in regards to customers and employees. There is no such thing as “work/life balance” at the store level. If you try for the balance, you are guilted and ostracized by management. If you do devote everything to the company (as I did), you end up deserving more money than the paltry pay scale allows (which at store level, hasn’t been updated in over 10 years). Egos at upper management and the regional director level are inflated and enormous, and they are unwilling or unable to see anything but what they want and how they want it, despite having no earthly idea how stores actually work. Lids management has admitted to many of us that they are freely allowed to pay people outside the company more money than the people who already work for them and know what they are doing. This causes a lot of division between co workers. Lids hiring process is antiquated and frustrating. They do actively use Kronos Hiring Console, but getting anything approved has to go through so many channels, (and the people at those channels drag their feet so much) that they lose out on good people.

Pros

Flexible hours, great employee discounts

Cons

Each store is very different, regional sales manager decides what merch you get, even if it's not relevant to your store
