Great Company

Pros

Lids has amazing people in it's organization. The company is #1 in the world in selling headwear and aggressively growing in other sectors. There is a lot of opportunity to advance and grow, if you are willing to put in the time and energy.

Cons

Long hours, lots of fires to put out. Very heavy workload. DSM's are responsible for almost everything in their markets, including HR, LP, recruiting, etc. The company has grown faster than its infrastructure and needs to allow some time to catch up.

Pros

If you want a job, that will never be a career, working for a company that does not care about you as a person, but you get a measly 40% off on hats, then this is the place for you.

Cons

This is a dead end. There is little to no chance of moving past store management, raises or any kind of pay increases are non existent. Appreciation is never expressed, only disappointment. You can never do enough, sell a lot of hats? how were your club cards? Cards were good, how about embroidery? Ok, how about these other various and insignificant numbers? No paid holidays, no sick time, always on call, no time off, not overtime, unreachable and ever rising sales and KPI goals, poor leadership, incompetent senior management, unreasonable accountability for the errors of other managers of other locations. The worst part is that any creative thought, or suggestions for improvements are not taken as possible ways to improve, but as insubordination, and not being a team player. Its a thankless and endless monotony of a hell.

Pros

Good discount(when discount money is available)

Cons

Bad pay at an assistant manager spot, bad management, doesn't work well if you have any extracurriculars.
