Pros

LifeStance offers a rare opportunity to scale behavioral health access in a meaningful way. The organization has invested heavily in infrastructure, technology, and growth, which creates real momentum at my state level. From an operations standpoint, there’s strong visibility into performance through dashboards and reporting, allowing leaders to make data-driven decisions rather than relying on our instincts alone. There is also easy and respected collaboration between ops and clinical leaders at my regional level which has made it so much easier to keep moving forward with change and improvements. For leaders who are proactive, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity, there is significant opportunity to influence outcomes, build teams, and drive measurable improvements in access, engagement, and patient experience.

Cons

The pace of growth can create strain on systems, workflows, and frontline teams. Not all processes scale as quickly as the organization expands, which can lead to inconsistency across some regions and added pressure on operations leaders to bridge those gaps. Change is constant new initiatives, tools, and expectations can shift quickly, and not always with perfect clarity at rollout. Leaders need to be comfortable operating in that environment and translating direction into execution locally. Like many large healthcare organizations, there can be tension between standardization and local flexibility, which requires strong, healthy communication and alignment with department partners and leadership teams to navigate effectively.
