Pros

Not very many pros. Maybe a pro to have an opportunity to speak your mind in surveys and town hall meetings. 401k was nice Remote work from home - Intake

Cons

You are expected to always be available for patients. Anything as simple as a break to take a breather is almost frowned upon. You could sit on the phone and be cursed at by a patient for 20-30 mins and get worked up, of course anybody would need to take a minute after that kind of call and believe me, they happen OFTEN because the necessary people in this company are never available or anywhere to be found. Management will be down your throat about where you are, why you’re not on the phone, how long you were gone, etc. It’s just a huge cycle of micromanagement and negativity. They expect you to function like a robot, no regard for the fact that you are a person too. They critique you on how you handle a call and tell you what you should have said instead. Well, how about they get on the phones then. Problem solved. The managers are never available when you need them. The front office is off the phones consistently so patients can’t get through and other departments cannot reach anyone They watch your EVERY move. Be careful not to be away from your desk for too long or off the phone for too long, it does come with consequences, apparently, Prepare to have no one give you an answer or help with an upset patients. You’re on your own. Managers do everything they can to avoid getting on the phone. There’s no way they have a “meeting” every hour of every day.

Pros

W2 status, health insurance, don’t have to worry about billing

Cons

Not since I was a 20 year old waitress being sexually harassed have I felt like my employer was this predatory. They flagrantly violated my contract and their legal department gave them cover to do so. I ended up losing a month of my salary. They brag about how much they’ve grown but the ratio of therapists to operations staff is 2:1, with the operation side continuing to grow. This means that the therapists who bring in ALL of the revenue see a low percentage of it in their paycheck because so much has to go to supporting the huge operations side of things. Operations leadership has no understanding, respect or humility for the clinical side. Each Clinical Director now supports 160 therapists so your director will not even know your name in most cases and Operations has no understanding of how emblematic that is of them not caring about clinical staff. One of my colleagues was privy to a “hot mic” moment from an Operations leader in which he shared open disdain for clinical leadership. I can’t say enough bad things about this company.

Pros

You can make your own schedule.

Cons

It is with deep disappointment that I write this review], a mental health workplace that prioritizes profit over the well-being of clients and employees. This organization’s toxic culture is marked by poor supervision, burnout, and a dismissive attitude toward employee concerns, creating an isolating and overall disappointing environment. Safety protocols are inadequately implemented, putting staff and clients at risk. Instead of focusing on therapeutic outcomes and client wellness, LifeStance is obsessed with maximizing revenue and minimizing costs, harming everyone involved. One of the most egregious practices is the use of restrictive non-compete and non-solicitation clauses in employee contracts. These measures trap employees in a hostile work environment, preventing them from seeking better opportunities. This strategy stifles professional growth and perpetuates a cycle of exploitation and dissatisfaction. In a field as crucial as mental health, it is unconscionable for any organization to place profits above people. Significant changes are needed to transform this organization from a profit-driven entity into one that truly cares for the well-being of its clients and employees.
