Pros

The crews and operational staff are very good at their jobs and a lot of fun to work with. 5 stars for this area of the company. The company is shifting, but the direction is uncertain. If the management can mature a bit more (seem to be stuck 20 years in the past) then the company will be an awesome place to work.

Cons

LES defines old school boys club. Stay in line, keep your head down and maintain the status quo. Do not challenge leadership. If you come from a financial or government institution you will be familiar with the culture here. Arrive on time, leave on time. Don't worry about productivity. Makes for poor work life balance if your kids are sick or involved in activities. As other reviewers have said management decisions are made based on rumor rather than performance. Rumor dominates because the company is overstaffed so people have a lot of time to gossip. Management is bored so they participate in the gossip and actively seek it out because they don't know how to measure performance. It is better to look good than to be good. New ideas and thoughts are viewed with a high amount of skepticism. If you think different avoid LES. There is no vision or strategy other than maintaining the status quo.

Pros

Good health insurance. Decent pay. Average vacation policy.

Cons

So many long-time employees leaving because of pay cuts and additional work load when employees are not replaced. Morale is low, stress is high. Management does not care about employees. Projects that require quite a bit of time are given to employees at the last minute and expected to be completed or changed at the whim of the manager without respect to the employee's schedule. Some managers have told salaried employees that if they leave 15 minutes early, they need to put it down as personal leave.
