Pros

Rewarding to help students, all in all good co-workers

Cons

Pay is low and developing a high level of expertise is seen as a threat to other employees, especially those at the corporate level.

Starting to feel like a toxic relationship

Pros

It's so amazing seeing the kids make progress. If not for the kids, the job probably wouldn't be worth it anymore.

Cons

It feels like if you develop past being an entry-level clinician, you are being punished for it. If you can do things other than work with students, they try to leave you open for those things but it results to a $20/hr FT clinician getting 40 hours a week and more money than FT mentors and consultants who are barely paid more and sometimes not even being scheduled for their full time hours. In center management is great, but their hands are tied by people who have not worked in a learning center for years and may not actually understand what they are asking for.
