Patient Account Coordinator
Pros
The work week is generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with abundant overtime. Employees can work on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays in an effort to "catch up" on so-called "special projects" and other tasks that were unable to be completed during the 40 hour work week.
Cons
There are so many "cons" for this particular location and position. Management - Supervision and management lack the ability and education to lead and direct the employees. The office runs on miscommunication, micromanagement, mismanagement, favoritism, manipulation, gossip, and games. Instead, management should focus on more important issues, such as, patients, communication, employee satisfaction, and the big picture. Computer Software and Equipment - It was very difficult to work efficiently with outdated and obsolete computer software that is no longer supported by the developer. Many websites, if allowed past the Access Denied (Security Filtering), would not load due to the software and often lock up the system. The computer had to be restarted, which took a while for it to reboot. The keyboard and mouse had seen better days, too. The keyboard for my desktop had staples and paperclips stuck under the keys, which made it nearly impossible to use. Reporting these issues to management meant nothing, as they were more concerned with "bringing in the money."
