Pros

100% chance you'll be hired if you've previously worked at Thompson Reuters or HireRight

Cons

Where do I begin? New leadership has come in and completely gutted the entire company. Anyone who doesn't fall in line or challenges a single aspect of the new direction has been promptly shown the door. Sales leadership is comically small minded - they only care about what's in front of them, a small insides sales team that makes up a FRACTION of the company's revenue. Couple that with the fact their idea of building out the team is to bring in old friends with minimal leadership experience and ZERO industry experience should be an eye opener to people. The company is trying it's best to reinvent itself and preach that it's this "fun, cool" place to work that breeds nothing but inclusion, diversity, and total top, down communication. DON'T believe them. The salaries are average at best, the comp plans are well below the average, they're just as silo'd as they've ever been and hey, do me a favor and check out the leadership page on the website and tell me if you think it looks "diverse". If you're on the fence, it's a no brainer. Pick door number 2. With this leadership team at the helm they've been getting LAPPED by rival Translations.com and honestly have a better shot of falling behind to 3rd of 4th in the LSP world than they do of ever reclaiming the number one spot.

Pros

Pay is decent (0.45 cents a min)

Cons

As soon as you hit about 45-60 minutes of call time, your calls will be assigned to other interpreters. You'll receive a ring that lasts a tenth of a second, and even if you can hit accept, it'll still be dropped or given to someone else. After a full 8+ hour day of working, your pay averages out to $5-6 an hour - for a professional interpreter (salary on avg 60k+). It's a joke.

Thank you for your review. There is generally no limit on the amount of time interpreters can work. You may have been on a particular project that had unique requirements. - Lionbridge CEO

Pros

This is a real work from home job. If you are a student or a person who needs flexibility in their work schedule this is a good opportunity.

Cons

The pay isn't enough to sustain yourself on so it is best as a side income or extra money. They are constantly updating their General Guidelines so you will have to read a lot to keep up with changes. Also, the tasks sometimes take longer than the time they give you so they will only pay you for the amount of time they think it should have taken you to complete them.
