Pros

-The management really wants certain people to succeed and will bend over backwards to make it happen. -The reps themselves are a fun and inclusive group for the most part -There is a lot of opportunity for self-teaching and independence

Cons

-The commission model may seem sweet to someone fresh out of college, but it is actually quite poor. -There is some favoritism and promotions are common for favorites even if they don't deserve it. -If you are not a favorite, you are not helped quite as much. -There are not many opportunities for advancement

Pros

I've been here for almost a year and it is by far one of the best places I've ever worked. The atmosphere is professional and upbeat. The people who work here are smart, hardworking and dedicated. Everyone is pleasant and eager to help each other out.

Cons

For some people it may be a bit to professional - this is not a place with games and beer night.

Don't apply to Lionbridge

Pros

Well, co-workers are a great bunch.

Cons

Everyone is hired on as an Operator 1 in a flex status. That means that if you come to work and there is no work that day they will pay you for half an hour of work and then send you home for the day. They can do that every day of the week if they want to. They will not tell you the day before if they will need you or not. In other words, sometimes Lionbridge is an employer in name only. Sometimes you get 40 hours of work a week. It's all at the discretion of the company. Furthermore, the head honcho doesn't care much about his workers. His first priority is to the company and getting the work done. He could care less if his workers have job satisfaction or even enough work, so long as the work assigned to his workers gets done. The final nail in the coffin is that there are almost no advancement opportunities. You have to work there and do an exemplary job for at least 1.5 years before you can move up even one rung on the ladder. In short, if you are looking for a good full time job with advancement opportunities, don't apply to Lionbridge. If you want a part time position or filler work, Lionbridge is great.
