Pros

LM is the largest government contractor in the country, Wallops Island is a cool place to work, and I enjoy the actual work.

Cons

There is a surprising lack of motivation and trust in the company here. Most days are spent waiting for trouble calls. That might just seem like whining, but I'm getting paid good money to essentially sit around. I'm the type of person that would prefer to stay busy so, for me, that's a "con".

Pros

Full time job, medium job security, Defence related unlikely to be axed.

Cons

Very low Base pay with long hours and constant shift work. Salary seems good at first but is really quite low at about $24/Hr or less. Pay rises are lower than CPI most years. Salary of about $90000 seems ok but is in actual fact well earned by mandatory and considerable overtime and long 12 Hr shifts. Highly skilled and experienced Emplyees are earning little more than minimum Award wages for longer hours worked plus National Employment Standard (NES) mandatory allowances.

Pros

Worked as a Mechanical Engineer overseas. The money was good, the benefits ok, and the working conditions were manageable.

Cons

I just hope this is not what LMC is all about, our superiors were unable to place a round peg into a round hole if you held their hand. NO LEADERSHIP whatsoever and the people on top only hire their buddies for the lead jobs. No advancement unless you are related to someone.
