Pros

The pay is good. At the time I was hired, there was still a defined benefit (pension) plan. No longer available for new hires. Flextime - Seems mgmt is genuinely concerned w/home-work life balance

Cons

Little or no chance of advancement after you hit a certain tier (level 3). Too many mgmt levels between Individual contributors and those that make promotion decsions (first lines don't have much impact on those decsions). Defense Industry - It appears to be lean times ahead. We are doing more with less and it seems (at least in MST) our ranks are shrinking. Too much time and $$ is spent on the PR aspects of "Inclusion, Diversity etc...). Policies are in place to make this a good work environment, but it seems that they advertise to appease the "PC" media and outside interests, when it really is not needed.

Pros

As a young professional, Lockheed Martin is a great place to work if you are passionate about manufacturing and engineering. Their leadership development programs offer employees the opportunity to have their graduate degree paid for and allows employees the opportunity to relocate on the company's dime.

Cons

On average, responsibility and salary increases tend to be on the slower side. Promotions are based on tenure rather than ability. With many layers in management and supporting roles, career advancement comes slowly. Switching companies often appears to be the best way to progress at this firm.
