Pros

Salary position - You can make something for yourself and advance your career. Flexible hours, alot of incredible people with incredible resumes and talent and achievement. One can learn alot if he or she wishes. Cool product - ie, helicopters. If you want to just do your job and be polite then go live your life, you can do that also. Union Position - great pay, even overtime. In my opinion, cannot be matched for what is asked of to do.

Cons

Salary position - sometimes seems endless layers of management, poor real training, lack of communication between platforms / projects...no one steering the ship who knows how to steer a ship. Union positions - can get away with coming in on a saturday for overtime and doing nothing..(well, i guess that is a pro if you are on the receiving side)....I.kid you not. Not true of all union folks, but way too much such that it should be mentioned.... No management seems to care or had the guts to walk out and say, to say "what the heck are you doing?"

Pros

Loyal, hard working colleagues with some of the best minds in the industry. Professional collegiate atmosphere depending on area of the business and programme you are working on. Work / life balance is good with flex-time policies and a culture which acknowledges family commitments and the need to balance.

Cons

Company is struggling to remain competitive in a changing market. Transformation programmes are as slow to be implemented as one would expect from a huge Corporation; unfortunately this is translating into short term actions such as cost cutting in training, research & development and benefits. Salaries lag behind competitors and continue to fall in competitiveness.
