Pros

401(k) contribution is 6%, 12 weeks paid maternity leave, wonderful coverage training in KC office.

Cons

Pay is severely below market value. They have the capability to work remotely but rarely let you use it. No flexible schedule options - must work 8-5 + OT. Work/life balance is nonexistent. The culture is touted, but unless you're a 22 year old, or a functioning alcoholic, or old man who hates spending time with his family, the alcohol-centered events don't make up for the lack of pay. Women are treated as second class citizens and they employ virtually no minorities.

Pros

Referral bonus after 90 days Wellness program

Cons

Executive management have relations with associates while married. Office politics get in the way of promotions Unit managers are not managers based on merit, they become managers based on time and service. Employee confidence with employer is low. No set rating scales to determine the bonus structure. Work life balance is not enforced: managers take advantage by reaching out to associates after normal work hours (cell, text, email, etc.)

Pros

Good benefits; fun company-sponsored events; well-defined roles. I learned a tremendous amount within my field. Lockton provides lots of in-house training for its employees. Free (small) onsite gym. Employees were given the opportunity to earn subsidies on their health insurance, although only a single health plan was offered (high-deductible).

Cons

Shocking low pay. Company does not provide cell phone allowance nor do they provide one, yet require you have one for business travel or to be called on weekends. Zero telework flexibility (you must work in the office every single day with absolutely no exceptions). Lockton's "we live service" motto is taken 100% literally, meaning there is no work/life balance and lots of overtime is required. Stuffy mandatory suit-and-tie dress code does not align with the low compensation, especially considering the droves of entry-level college grads Lockton hires. Culture is very cliquey. Advancement is not as easy as it might sound. If you're not part of the elite "Associate Account Manager" college program, expect to wait many years for a promotion.
