Pros

-Support and training to build knowledge -a free drink here and there on a Thursday/Friday

Cons

-Below market compensation -micromanagement -cliques within teams -you’re just a number, unless you’re a producer/ older account exec.. -Lockton preaches family values but really operates like any other NYSE PLC.

Awful Department

Pros

- Very pro-active with their Charity work

Cons

- Lack of communication - No support from Managers or 1-1's for years - Lack scale of bigger broker - Manipulate redundancy situation by removing work and Salesforce license prior to being told your job is at risk ! - From the day of notification of risk of redundancy to now the Partner has made no attempt to communicate or get in touch, despite being their PA for 4 years, which shows complete lack of people and empathetic skills! - Poor HR department who come across as rude and not interested. No help in retaining you, all they do is forward you a copy of the latest vacancies and then you have to wait for a month for the redundancy pay-out. - Whilst taking minutes in meetings, Senior Managers including a Partner would openly mock their staff. On one occasion they implied that because a member of staff didn't want to travel to London or attend nights out that she must therefore be suffering from domestic violence. They made jokes at people's expense and were so rude about their staff. - The Partner came up with loads of great ideas but never saw anything through and was so unorganised and it was all very last minute. Lacking basic planning skills. - They employed a Senior member of the team to sell a specific product, and they don't even have the backing of an insurer to sell that product, so now they have him writing marketing articles all day.

A tick box Company - not at all what they say they are

Pros

Salary. London office / location to Insurance Market. Career Opportunities if a Partner supports you.

Cons

Very Hierarchical. Inflexible. Old fashioned benefits. The culture - they talk the right talk with family values and philosophies, but on the ground there are a lot of huge ego’s with very old fashioned, sexist views and resistance to change which Executives and the Head of HR are not interested in managing. Partners are god regardless of bad behaviours, inappropriate banter and there is a day time drinking culture. This is a tick box company. They say they are inclusive and diverse but are far from it, for example Associate groups such as Women in Lockton are created to tick the box, but are inactive internally and there is a huge reluctance to flexible working hours / agile working before and after Covid.
