Pros

Lonza is full of friendly people that are make the work place environment very inviting and enjoyable. The benefits package is one I would rate extremely high.

Cons

The management at Lonza is extremely pushy and deadline oriented. They have little understanding of the site and talk a big talk without walking the walk. Lonza does not support advancement in careers unless you are one of the "chosen". By that I mean the process of choosing those that will and will not succeed is extremely political and based on opinions of upper management only. I would not recommend Lonza to anyone that is looking to further their career within the Biotechnology industry.

Pros

There are opportunities for research and development at Lonza there is a culture of scientific literacy that is unique and drew me to the organization at first. You have a unique opportunity to interact with the clients and business end of projects that allows you to see multiple aspects of bringing a pharmaceutical product to market.

Cons

This site is massively disorganized, every day felt like putting out fires and you could expect a big turnover rate for your coworkers. A majority of my team and direct management left within the first year of my working at Lonza, leading us to pick up the pieces. Additionally, the middle management seemed more interested in personal advancement than solving chronic problems that would plague frontline workers on a day-to-day basis. The culture was stuck in its ways and was not interested in applying different problem solving techniques to its projects. I can personally attest to seeing PPE standards not being met by its employees to meet deadlines set by middle management, with middle management not being amenable to moving deadlines with clients.
