Pros

Pay is good at the beginning

Cons

The biggest challenge with the role is that it can feel closer to telemarketing than consultative sales. Much of the day is spent making repeated outbound calls to customers who often are not actively looking to purchase additional LoopNet services. The emphasis is heavily weighted toward activity metrics, and performance expectations can change even when revenue goals are being met. Marketing support is limited, requiring sales reps to create much of their own opportunities. Customer sentiment can also be challenging, as some clients become frustrated by frequent outreach from sales teams. The model relies heavily on persistence and volume rather than a relationship-driven sales process.

Pros

Nice office and decent base pay

Cons

This company will use and abuse you. They also outright lie because they say it's consultative sales, but it's really about hounding current, former and potential new clients nonstop, bothering them even when they tell you not to call them back. This company does not care about their employees, and that starts at the very top corporate office and trickles down to each of their markets. The only way a manager keeps their job is if they treat their employees like trash. Company is more concerned with how many calls you make per day than the quality of the call or meeting. Metrics are important, but at some point you need quality over quantity. It's alone is why I stopped looking into management roles- because I'm a nice human.

Pros

I've worked at LoopNet a long time and have appreciated the opportunities to move up and grow in my career. Here are the best parts of working at LoopNet: - Designing, creating and building new technology that is improving the professional lives of our customers (commercial real brokers, agents, investors, developers, etc) and helping to re-shape and modernize an industry - The CEO of CoStar (parent company to LoopNet) and President of LoopNet have both founded and built their own companies from the group up and are entrepreneurs at heart - Strong vision and financial management from the c-suite has more than doubled the market cap in the last 12 months - Management actively seeks input from employee and responds to feedback - Opportunities to find and work on projects that excite you - HR and the leadership team care about the employees and help put people on the right career track - Coworkers that are supportive and who appreciate/respect the work/life balance at LoopNet - The benefit package and office perks are great (partially paid for my master’s degree, plenty of PTO, subsidizes public transit, provides a locked room for bike storage, pays 80% of the gym membership, free snacks in the office, regular happy hours, Giants games, etc) - The company was supportive and respectful when my children were born, enabling me to spend more time supporting my wife and kids - Great location in the heart of SOMA

Cons

I don't have any major cons about LoopNet. Sure, as the company has grown from a start-up to a 2,000 person company, there are more protocols and work rules, but that is no different than any other mid/large size company.

Pros

Decent pay. And that's it.

Cons

Horrible management. Huge egos. . Very high pressure. Comoany micro manages their mid level managers, which in turn means you are micromanaged down to every minute spent working. Out of touch upper management. No respect for sales staff. Rules change almost weekly. Job promises so much, then tricks you into working mostly as a telemarketer, within high pressure sales. Sneaky.
