Pros

This is a great job for just starting out, there are lots of opportunities to advance in the system if you are willing to move to another branch.

Cons

It doesnt pay as well as City of Los Angeles. You will probably have a long commute or have to move closer to your branch. You won't have any say in collection development.

Pros

Great medical and retirement benefits.

Cons

Unfortunately the County of Los Angeles needs to get it together. Our facilities are so out dated and are falling apart. Our technology is from the 90's. It takes forever for issues to be addressed. I mean, I'm grateful to be employed but this list can go on and on.
