Company is on it's way down

Pros

The actual people who do the work (aka not senior management and especially not the owner) are wonderful colleagues and keep to the mission of true journalism - publishing honest, fact-checked work that inform on the essential issues of the day.

Cons

The owner has gone full-MAGA and has interfered in editorial and opinion content to such a degree that over a period of less than six months the majority of people on this team left the company. He doesn't understand the purpose of journalism or how editorial and opinion writing works and assumes anyone who disagrees with him is wrong. He communicates negatively about the work the company and its employees do to outside media and never speaks to the actual workers about his plans leaving everyone left to interpret his political tweets as messages about the future of the Times. Additionally, the company's finances are upside down and the owner has leveraged layoffs and buyouts to save money (his right) but is investing in non-editorially-driven products that don't drive readership.
