Pros

-Solid company with an interesting product portfolio. -Backed by Berkshire Hathaway. -Nice and friendly co-workers and employee throughout the organization. -Really enjoy the work I'm doing and like coming to work. -Great exposure to senior management.

Cons

-Still traditional in some parts of the company. -Slow to adapt to the change times (due to the company being so traditional and risk adverse) -Needs a clearer defined career path.

Pros

Friendly culture, good people, good development opportunities if you know how to get around....and ask for promotions...(they won't come to you)... They are engaged with community, and local colleges and universities.

Cons

Old economy, most people have chemistry background, very risk averse... Upstream chemical supplier trying to convert old model into downstream... (?) --(not very successfully). Company doesn't have a corporate strategy, lacks succession planning, no outsiders, etc...

Pros

Company has a vast array of chemicals in support of industry in specialties ranging from cosmetics and personal care, skin care, pharma, and plastics. A nice diverse group of application scientists are real supportive.

Cons

Management is often taken from other successful divisions of the company, often with limited knowledge of the product lines they are held responsible for. A learning curve is slow for the new managers, often hampering team and company growth.
