Pros

Company is very generous to its employees, to its customers, to its shareholders, and to the community. Upper management truly cares about employees and is leading the company in the right direction; they are exceptional leaders. Sophisticated process for career planning and coaching recently rolled out. High degree of role flexibility once you're in. Excellent work/life balance--a great place to work for those with families. Open door policy. Many training opportunities, a great environment in which to learn, respectful culture. Lots of trust, freedom, and privacy given to do your job. Get to work on global projects with some of the brightest minds in the industry. Part of Berkshire Hathaway.

Cons

Very few young employees (20s-30s). No onboarding process/formal training programs in place for newer, inexperienced folks. Few entry level roles besides internships, most require at least 5 years experience. Slow upward mobility. Gender and race bias still exists in some departments, in favor of white males. Risk- and failure-averse culture (management trying to change this). Incremental innovation the norm due to a focus on numbers and returns. Very siloed, little communication between departments. Slow. Safety hazards, such as chemical spills of toxic monomers in synthesis labs, still exist in R&D buildings.
