Pros
Lots of opportunities to make a big difference in the product and company processes.
Cons
Toxic workplace because of executive leadership who fail to lead by example. DEI leadership was laid off a year ago. DEI does not exist - do not let the Lucid website fool you. HR exists to protects executives, not employees. Employees are overworked- expect to work long hours. Unclear and frequently changing policies have resulted in me spending thousands out of pocket for this job. Peter Rawlinson encourages the company to continue to work with the "startup mindset"- this results in a lack of clearly defined roles and responsibilities, lack of process, and just mass chaos really. If you're smart you will end up taking on more responsibility than you can handle once your leadership realizes you are actually competent and can get work done. Feels like 5% of the engineering groups do actual work, and the rest just screw around and pretend to be busy. Constant burnout. Lucid used to throw company events and socials but it is rare to have one these days. As a woman I have experienced stalkers, creeps, unnecessary comments about my appearance and clothing choices, and blatant disrespect, and none of the men I reported were fired or reprimanded. My physical and mental health have severely deteriorated because of this job.
