Pros

As a former employee of Lucid Motors, I am thrilled to attest to the exceptional quality of their products. Working from within the company, I had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the dedication and innovation that goes into each vehicle. Lucid's commitment to engineering excellence, combined with their focus on cutting-edge technology and attention to detail, results in a product that truly stands out in the automotive industry. It's no exaggeration to say that I am immensely proud to have been part of a team that consistently delivers such remarkable and high-quality vehicles.

Cons

I recently had the unfortunate experience of being associated with the inside sales team at Lucid that can only be described as a textbook example of dysfunction/toxic environment. From the moment I stepped through the doors, it was clear that this place was plagued by nepotism, micromanagement, a hostile team environment, and an astonishing lack of sales experience among the managers. Nepotism seems to be the name of the game here. It's apparent that the higher-ups have no qualms about placing their friends in positions of power, regardless of their qualifications or experience. This blatant disregard for meritocracy results in a team where those who are truly competent are overshadowed by individuals who have no business being in their roles. It's frustrating to see the talented and deserving employees go unnoticed while unqualified individuals are handed promotions on a silver platter. Micromanagement is not just a buzzword at this company; it's a way of life. Managers seem incapable of trusting their team members to complete even the simplest tasks without their constant interference. The lack of autonomy and trust leads to a suffocating atmosphere where creativity and innovation are stifled. Instead of focusing on the bigger picture and allowing employees to thrive, managers waste their time nitpicking every detail and stifling any potential for growth. The team environment is downright toxic and borderline bullying. The negative energy is palpable, as employees are pitted against each other due to the lack of transparency in opportunities. Instead of fostering a collaborative environment, this company thrives on competition fueled by favoritism. This divisive approach undermines teamwork and camaraderie, leaving employees feeling isolated and demoralized. Perhaps the most astounding issue is the complete absence of sales experience among the managers. It's baffling to think that a company purportedly focused on sales could have leaders who lack any understanding of the field. Their decisions are often misguided, leading to poor strategies, misaligned goals, and a general lack of direction. It's clear that the management team is out of touch with the industry and its demands, leaving the employees to flounder in a sea of uncertainty. My time at this company was a painful lesson in how NOT to run a business. The rampant nepotism, suffocating micromanagement, toxic team dynamics, and ineptitude of the management team have created an environment that is unbearable and soul-crushing. If you value your sanity and career growth, steer clear of this company at all costs. There are far better opportunities out there that will allow you to thrive in an environment of competence, respect, and genuine teamwork.

Stay away from sales at Lucid

Pros

C-level are all very friendly people. The trainers are superb. Overall, the best part of the company is the people. Lots and lots of smart, motivated people looking to make a difference in the world.

Cons

A completely disorganized, back-stabbing kind of place. The people who get ahead here are the people who suck up to the managers the most. In this role, management hopes that when they tell you to jump, you jump. The pay structure is insulting. This is a non-commissioned sales environment, meaning the value you provide is completely irrelevant to them. You will be paid little, hourly. There are no incentives whatsoever to secure reservations for the product. No commission, no bonuses, nothing. Mediocre hourly pay in a retail sales job. This job made it impossible to exist in any meaningful way outside of the job. You will be expected to be on-call, answering phone calls/teams messages from clients and coworkers at all hours of the day, even on days off, on your personal phone. Your clients don't know that you have Tuesday and Sunday off, how could they? It's not Monday-Friday, 9-5 either. You'll work all weekend and get Monday and Thursday off (or Tuesday and Sunday). Work schedules change from one week to the next. Some days you'll close up shop and then be expected to open up the very next morning, after having just worked a few days in a row. There is no consistency whatsoever, making regular sleep routines impossible. I got coronavirus on the job, had to quarantine for 10 days and was treated like I just returned from some glamorous vacation when I got out of quarantine and returned to work. Blatant favoritism and lack of promotions from within both drive morale into the ground. Stay as far away from this place as you can if you're looking to find a good place to work and make money in sales. There is none of that here.
