Pros

Great place to work solving incredibly fun/difficult problems and blazing trails on the bleeding technological edge. Expectations+challenges are high but who doesn’t want to be part of building the most technologically advanced/efficient EV in the world. From a Data/Software/ML perspective I can’t imagine a better opportunity than this, a growth-stage EV manufacturer. The data volume is huge and growing, making it even more rewarding to engineer platforms that are leveraged every day to solve problems across the business. The company is very data driven. Overall I think the world of my coworkers at Lucid. Every team can be different, including remote work opportunities. That said if you are good/hardworking and hungry to expand your skill/ value you will find a role. It’s also nice to be working towards something that makes the world a better place.

Cons

It is an extremely fast-paced environment which requires individuals to exercise a certain amount of self-discipline in engineering solutions. Failures can be magnified. It can be tough being too busy to take on all the internal projects you’d like to assist with.

Pros

-Great med/dental/vision benefits -Intelligent, hard-working people -Good pay (not the highest, but good for a "start-up")

Cons

-Heavy micromanagement: Old-school, dry, micro-managers (many from previous car companies) are put in place, and it unfortunately it blocks any autonomy, creativity, and trust. -Automotive culture, not "tech culture' you'd normally find in Silicon Valley: It's important to keep in mind that this is an auto-manufacturing company.. not a tech company. You will not find that cool, laid-back, creative, social culture here. There are many tasks, deadlines, and deliverables, and you are reminded of that MULTIPLE times a week. -Meeting frenzy: 70% meetings, 30% time to get work done. (Probably 10% of that meeting time is actually productive. 0% is fun.) -No matching 401k -Limited PTO which accrues slowly during your first year. -Free food only on day 1.

Pros

Love working with the people there. If you are lucky, you may have a manager that trust you and value your contribution. But most Leadership don’t care about their employees.

Cons

No work life balance. Company treats employees like working robot. Company culture is at its worst ever and people are afraid to talk about it. People are discouraged from speaking their mind. No performance review and people are being paid unfairly (salary compression is extremely bad). Mediocre benefits and perks.
