Pros

Very relevant and rewarding problem space to work in (clean tech / renewables) and more tangible (hardware and software) contribution to it than normal in the market. Super smart people with whom it's fulfilling to problem solve in a dynamic part of the energy tech market. Non-nonsense culture with collaborative and supportive colleagues and minimal politics. Management is balanced, approachable and capable.

Cons

Start-up life, so a healthy degree of 'building the plane as you fly it', meaning some undefined processes and strategic direction in certain areas can be improved. This means you need to act like an entrepreneur in order to be effective, which is also a pro.

Pros

Lunar is a great place to be an engineer who wants to work in an engineering driven culture. The engineering leadership is mostly technical, decisive and open to feedback. The engineering talent is also strong and operates mainly on first principles. Incredible amount of progress in a very short amount of time on a very exciting and innovative product. There are very little office politics - conflicts that do arise are typically solved in good faith. People are also well meaning. You do, however, need to have a proactive mentality to work here and need to be flexible with ambiguity. In terms of perks, there are a reasonable amount of perks for a startup - enough that I feel appreciated, but not so much that I'm wondering where we're spending all of our money.

Cons

Timelines are super aggressive. While work life balance is generally respected, this will probably be a hard place to work if you have a lot going on outside of work. Some teams feel this pain a lot more than other teams - it seems like there are teams/programs that are consistently falling behind. The way we do product development is messy - almost everyone agrees with this but we're still feeling the fallout from decisions made early on.
