Very political. People keep their jobs forever and are resistant to positive (and needed change)

Very political and hard to get a full time job unless you know the right people. When you take on additional duties outside of teaching, for example tutoring, it is often hard to get paid for those additional hours. As an adjunct, you only get paid once per month during the semester you teach, yet payroll for other full time faculty and staff is every other week.
