Pros

Meh. I've met some good friends working there. Lot's of good people at the ground level. At the time we had free health benefits which I did truly appreciate.

Cons

Frank Suryan is an arrogant and rude person and it trickles down to his management team. This company tries to portray itself as a community builder and one that cares about things other than profits but that is really the bottom line with these folks. I felt completely undervalued and upper management very rarely had my back on important issues. Typical corporate nonsense here, I know very few people that have left the company on favorable terms.

Pros

Lyon was a great company. Had a family feel but has gone. The only plus we have now is being forced to look to find better Property management companies.

Cons

Corporate extremely unorganized and has lost how to communicate with property level. Complete disconnect from corporate and property level. New upper management is horrible and only care about themselves.

Pros

Good pay for entry level/a right-out-of-college situation. Definitely a good place to build your resume. Plenty of room for growth. Rewards people who are independent and self-motivated. You absolutely need to be a people person, for both the staff and residents/guests. Very little room for someone with poor communication skills. Feels very much like a start-up because it seems to be fairly good at adapting to culture and counter culture.

Cons

It is a privately owned institution- or at least feels that way. Everyone has a higher amount of responsibility than at a usual company, this sometimes means people have a little too much. But it's easy to maneuver around depending on your people skills/capabilities.
