Pros

They have a good IT department.

Cons

Micro Manage everyone. Not enough staff to cover the workload. High expectations on delivery, while pushing employees beyond their limits. No work/life balance, very stressful environment with no upside to offset that. Sweat shop mentality by management. Don't trust anyone working for them, and treat all their employees with skepticism and doubt.

Pros

Strong presence in the the housing market. Great support staff, who'll do what it takes to help you to become successful.

Cons

After investing months building up your community and getting sales, the deceptive managers will remove you and put in a favored salesperson to reap the rewards. As a female, you will become one of many who have been told you have a community then after a long wait it's given to a favored salesperson. Ask for references from former successful females and have an attorney on retainer.

Pros

M/I Homes seems to pay a fair salary

Cons

One of the founders had a saying, "Don't forget to treat my customers right", or some such sentiment. Unfortunately, M/I doesn't carry this sentiment over to its employees. As in any organization, the tone is set at the top and, in this case, the culture is toxic. Huge egos in leadership. Cliques - again, bred by top leaders. Racist/mysoginist undertones. And general disrespect of employees in general. No parental leave offered, no flexible/hybrid work possibilities, few holidays and only 2 weeks of vacation until year 5. If M/I is your only option, I would go into it as a stepping stone type of position to get some experience and keep on the lookout for a more progressive company, if possible.
